Job Title: Group Fitness Instructor/Part TimeStarting Pay: $18.00, dependent upon certifications and experienceFunctions of the Job:This position provides group fitness, instruction, monitors, and educates members on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.General Description:The Group Fitness Instructor will report to the Fitness Director.Duties include but are limited to: Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up exercises, stretching, and cool down. Instructs members on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class. Assists members, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Keeps Fitness Director informed of member and Fitness Center needs. Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department policies are followed. Performs related duties as required.The job duties and responsibilities listed are not the only requirements of the job. Other requirements may be added at the discretion of the Fitness Director.Qualifications: High School Degree or equivalent and current First Aid, CPR certification. (Employer will provide training if needed) Valid Group Fitness certification (AFAA, ACE or equivalent). Additional specialty certifications preferred. Self motivator, able to work individually without direct supervision. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.Hours worked:2 to 16 hours per month. Hours may include some weekend and evenings.
